MOKUME GANE:

A process literally translated as "copper grain."  The goal of this process was to make a unique pendant for a class.  I happened to inherit a fair amount of blacksmitthing equipment from my grandfather and decided to machine my own torque plate.  Working near my parents' garage I set up a little outdoor smithing studio.  Making the piece required a lot of cleaning but beyond that it felt like cooking metal. =)
